Who Are We?
You may know us better as the short-lived 'Nylon Wombats'. (2001). Or not. We are a four-piece band of former Exeter College students who occasionally get together to jam; drink and have fun (but not necessarily in that order), in fact mainly to waste time during breaks from Uni.
Eponymous are:
(In alphabetical order:)
Ken Fry (Guitars/Bass/Synths)
David Hannaford (Drums/Percussion)
Mike Prosser (Guitars/Vocals)
Jeremy Townsend (Bass/Keyboards)
Brief Bio
The three original members of Eponymous (Ken, Dave, Mike) all hail from Exeter, England. Starting out as the ‘Nylon Wombats’ in mid-2001, they soon found a common interest in music, so met together frequently to rehearse. And drink. However the ‘Nylon Wombats’ were relatively short-lived and in late-2001 changed their name to ‘Eponymous’, having decided it seemed like a better name. Eponymous’ repertoire grew as it gained more equipment and, indeed, talent.
Eponymous' reputation as the best band in Alphington grew, drawing praise from people as diverse and impartial as friends, relatives and associates. After a brief lull during Aug-Nov 2002, where many less committed bands would have folded, the band got together again and the future seems more promising…
As of Dec 2006, new band member Jeremy ("Not Jez!") has been welcomed into the fold, bringing his impressive musical background along with his instrumental talent on both bass guitar and keyboards. He also plays an important role in the creative process.
